Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-10. Applies to the CallGuard Android app and callguard.aarveta.com, operated by Aarveta. Contact: hello@aarveta.com.

Without an account

Call blocking runs entirely on your phone. Your block and trust rules, the app's call history, your call log and your contacts are read and stored only on your phone and are never uploaded. The app downloads the shared list of reported AI and robocall numbers; this download sends no personal data.

With an account (optional)

  • Account: your email address and a securely hashed password.
  • Profile, if you fill it in: display name, date of birth, city, country, profile photo, and the mobile number for your caller card, plus the card colour and style. The photo is re-encoded without location (EXIF) data.
  • Backup, if you use it: your blocked and trusted numbers and quick-block settings.
  • Reports: numbers you report as AI or robocalls, linked to your account so each account counts once. The public list contains only numbers and report counts, never who reported them.

Caller cards and photos

When you are signed in and a call comes in, the incoming number is sent to our server to check whether it belongs to a CallGuard user with a caller card. To show CallGuard profile photos in Recents and Contacts, the numbers in your recent calls and contacts are sent in the same way. These lookups are not stored, and we keep no record of who called whom. Your own card is shown to people you call only while "Show my caller card" is on; you can turn it off in your profile.

Permissions

Call screening (to block calls), contacts and call log (to recognise saved contacts and show recent calls), phone calls (to place calls), notifications (Block buttons and warnings), display over other apps (caller cards) and installing apps (to install CallGuard updates you confirm). Each is optional except call screening, which blocking needs.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising. Data is processed only to run CallGuard: our server is a private virtual server, and verification emails are sent through our email provider.

Keeping and deleting data

Data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account and all its data at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account) or on the delete account page. Server backups are overwritten within 7 days.

Children

CallGuard accounts are not intended for children under 13.
